A Bouquet of flowers can be given (or received) for any number of occasions and often makes the perfect gift.
Cut flowers have long been used* to signify love and affection. Perhaps it’s because of their vibrant colors which can brighten anybody’s mood, or maybe it’s how their petals open wide to reveal the deepest reaches of a soft and sensitive heart.
Whatever the reason, the Bouquet signals a time of joy and happiness.
A seemingly small or simple gesture, the Bouquet speaks volumes without saying a word. It reminds us to remain open to receiving whatever gifts may come our way (both “big” and “small” ones), and to accept every pleasant surprise with an attitude of gratitude.
“When the flower blooms, the bees come uninvited.”
- Good news
- Pleasant surprise
Some questions to guide your meditation:
- Would you rather give a gift, or receive one?
- Does it make you uncomfortable to receive a gift (or a compliment)?
- Do you have a skill, talent or ability ready to bloom which you can share with others?
* Pollen has been found in an ancient burial site in northern Iraq dating back to 60,000 BCE, indicating that flowers had been placed alongside the deceased person.
