Towers create and transform perspective.
Should you find yourself in Manhattan (or any major metropolitan area) standing at the base of some skyscraper it’s perfectly natural to feel insignificant compared to the size and scale of such sheer verticality. Yet, if you were able to make your way to the top the view would give you a much “bigger picture” as you gazed out across the horizon.
Such is the power of perspective.
Little wonder, then, that Towers have served as defensive strongholds for millennia.
What the Tower projects upward is power, strength and achievement. But be sure to remember that working toward the success you desire (e.g. “climbing the corporate ladder” or “struggling to get to the top”) can lead to isolation. And insulation. Be mindful, lest your climb to the “top” of some endeavor lands you in an “ivory tower” of your own making.
Which is why the Tower comes to remind you that maintaining a healthy attitude is everything. Because sometimes the best course of action is a temporary “retreat” into the Tower to shut out the noise so you can pause, reflect and gain a clearer perspective on a particular issue or situation.
Some questions to guide your meditation:
- How to do you react to (or project) authority?
- Lately, is there a situation or issue that is causing you to be on the defensive?
- In what way(s) might your ego be affecting your ability to achieve a certain goal or milestone?
- If you’re currently feeling “stuck” or “lost” in a given situation, what steps might you take to gain a clearer perspective?
