There’s something hauntingly beautiful about being outside under a night sky hung with a full Moon. It’s magical to see the colors of our world when illuminated by the cool, pale light of our Moon.
Of course, scientifically speaking we all know that moonlight is “nothing more” than reflected sunlight from the Moon’s surface. And yet, what a wondrous “mirror” hanging so sweetly in the night sky.
No wonder poets and songwriters have long expressed the romantic “pull” of our beautiful Moon.
So it goes without saying that the Moon symbolizes deep emotions, magic, dreams, intuition and your imagination. But remember this, the Moon also represents those “things” we don’t admit or want to look at in the clear light of day. Hidden motives. Repressed feelings. Secret fears.
Quite simply, our own “shadow” side.
The Moon hangs before you with a gentle reminder that living a full life involves embracing your true self. Your whole self. Wholeness = wholly = holy. So the path to your joy, your happiness, your deepest fulfillment can only occur when you dare to face those “parts” of yourself you’d sometimes rather not acknowledge.
Dare to dance in the Moonlight. And have (or find) the courage to embrace the shadows which might bubble up to the surface to meet you there.
“If you want the moon, do not hide from the night. If you want a rose, do not run from the thorns. If you want love, do not hide from yourself.”

Some questions to guide your meditation:
- What do you really dream for yourself?
- What is the one thing you can’t live without?
- Is there some issue or situation that you don’t want to face?
- What is the one gift or talent you have that no one knows about? Why have you kept this hidden until now?
